The Chicago Mermaid Championship is an athletic competition focused on showcasing and rewarding excellent swimming technical skills and artistry.
- Will take place over two days, Sat May 2nd & Sun May 3rd at The Water’s Edge Aquatic Center, Bensenville, IL.
- Saturday May 2nd, 2026 3pm-6pm, no audience
- Events:
- Dynamic apnea swims
- 9 Figures technical swims (Swim on front, Swim on back, Swim on side, Torpedo, Buoyancy control: Vertical head up spin, Buoyancy control: Vertical head down spin, Buoyancy control: Scorpion, Double flip, Infinity)
- Events:
- Sunday May 3rd, 2026 3pm-6pm, with audience. A live underwater view will be displayed on the big screen.
- Events:
- Artistic (choreographed) swims
- Tailwalk showcase swims
- Events:
- Sunday May 3rd, 2026 6pm – Awards Ceremony.
- Saturday May 2nd, 2026 3pm-6pm, no audience
- Awards:
- First Place: $300 cash prize
- Second Place: $200 cash prize
- Third Place: $150 cash prize
- Registration Fee: $130.00 ($150 after January 1st; $170 after March 1st)
